The bill, Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters between Nigeria and other Foreign States, 2017 (SB. 224) was read for the third time at plenary and eventually passed.
Senate President, Bukola Saraki said the passage of the bill would bring confidence to foreign investors and strengthen the Senate support of the Executive in fighting corruption
The Senate also passed the Nigerian Football Federation (Est, etc) Bill, 2017 (SB. 154).
The report was presented on behalf of the Committee on Sports by Sen. Obinna Ogba, asking the Senate to consider reports of the Committee on Sports on the Nigeria Football Federation.
The Senate on Tuesday dissolved to the Committee of the whole, to consider the report, after which the Senators took turns to contribute to the Committee Report on Sports on Nigerian Football Federation Bill.
The Nigerian Football Federation (Est, etc) Bill, 2017 (SB. 154) was read for the 3rd time and passed.
The Senate reverted back to plenary and reported progress.
Meanwhile, the Senate President Bukola Saraki, has commended the Committee on Sports.
He said the bill passage “would bring Nigeria within the best practices, it has been an embarrassment to the Nation in the past”.
