Tottenham Hotspur’s new signing Savio made an instant impact on his debut for the North London club in their second-round Carabao Cup clash against Charlton Athletic on Wednesday night.
The Brazil winger, who joined from Manchester City for an initial £75m, was given a standing ovation when he came on during the encounter.
Spurs initially struggled against the much-changed Charlton side, but 19-year-old Mikey Moore broke the deadlock in the 41st minute after striking from the edge of the box with a rasping drive into the top corner.

Dominic Solanke then doubled the home side’s advantage four minutes later with a right-footed finish after turning inside the box.
In the second half, Kevin Danso made it 3-0 to Spurs before Savio, who was introduced in the 71st minute, danced past a couple of players before finding the net to score Spurs’ fourth goal of the night.
The Brazilian, who celebrated by lifting a corner flag into the air, was also heavily involved when Ben Davies scored Spurs’ fifth in the 85th minute as Spurs—who have spent over £300m in the summer transfer window—put last Saturday’s dismal 3-0 defeat by Brentford behind them.
Charlton, however, scored a consolation goal in the 87th minute through L. Jones, but it did little to soften the thumping defeat the Championship club suffered at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
