Spanish businessman and Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme has promised fans of the La Liga giants that he will sign Manchester City duo Erling Haaland and Rodri if elected, claiming he has already agreed the deals.

The 37-year-old made this known on Wednesday night during an interview on El Hormiguero, a Spanish television programme with a live audience.

Speaking on the programme, the founder of COX Energy claimed that Haaland has a release clause in his contract and is keen on the move.

“What I commit to is that, regarding the promises I have made about the two players.

“If I am president of Real Madrid and I fail to keep any of them, I have signed a notarised guarantee,” Riquelme said. “In it, I commit to paying 100% of the membership fees of all 100,000 Real Madrid members next season.
