Paris Saint-Germain president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has said the Champions League champions lost the 2025 Club World Cup final to Chelsea because the players were tired.
He made this known recently during an interview with the French club’s website.
PSG were expected to add the Club World Cup trophy to the four they secured prior to the tournament.
However, the Ligue 1 champions were annihilated 3-0 at the final of the match played in New Jersey, United States on Sunday.
A brace from Cole Palmer and one goal from Joao Pedro in the first half secured the comfortable win for the Blues.
Speaking on the shock loss, Al-Khelaifi congratulated west London club, Chelsea for their victory.

He, however, insisted he is proud of the players, despite the outcome of the encounter.
He added that the loss is a wake up call for the young PSG squad
He said, “Congratulations to Chelsea. They deserved their victory.
“We wanted to win this Club World Cup, but it’s difficult.
“The players gave their all. They were tired. We had a great season, the best in the club’s history.
“We’re proud of the players and the staff. This defeat is good for us, for next season. We have to be humble. We’re the youngest team in the competition.”
