Police uncover burial site of missing LASU graduate, arrest prime suspect

Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the burial site of Adedamola Ogunbode, a Lagos State University (LASU) graduate who had been missing since January 16, 2025.

This revelation follows the arrest of the principal suspect, Olaoluwa Ajisomo.

Ogunbode, a Political Science Education graduate, was reported missing amid speculation that his mutilated body had been discovered.

Lagos police spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin (CSP) confirmed to journalists on Wednesday that the grave where Ogunbode was buried has been located and that authorities will exhume the body soon.

“The grave was not found in the church compound, as circulated on social media. It was located around the Lagos State University area. However, the body will be exhumed in no time,” he said.

On Monday, Hundeyin also confirmed the arrest of 28-year-old Olaoluwa Ajisomo, the principal suspect in Ogunbode’s murder.

He stated that Ajisomo was apprehended in the Alakuko area and identified as the individual who emptied Ogunbode’s bank account using the victim’s mobile phone.

“Olaoluwa Ajisomo (M), the principal suspect, has been arrested in connection with the case of suspected murder. He was arrested yesterday (Monday) in the Alakuko area. He was the one who cleared the victim’s bank account through the victim’s mobile phone,” Hundeyin said.
