POEMS: Inmates of time

-

By Victor Uzodinma Chukwuma

74. Let these Angels die

Tears

and I closed my eyes

I opened them

but the darkness persists.

Stewards’ hearts are taken by the darkness,

the lords of darkness feast off

the fat of the land,

while the guardian angels sleep.

 This is the end of this nation

and many.

lines of decay crisscross souls of power.

No more justice to sooth the injured

Swell,

let in our hands,

these angels die;

then let the gallows besiege.

Dying to reincarnate

in this same garment,

is not oblivion enough.

It’s hell.

75. Our Real Youth

I see a sparkling flame

with gripping branches;

I see a lion, walking up;

I see a shark, they need a net

A strong net.

As he passed by me he averred:

When my mission is done,

they will condemned me a villain;

but when my mission is done,

and am done,

I and I will manifest.

Believe.
