The Director General of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), Folorunso Aluko, has refuted reports that there has been a change in the chairmanship of the body.
He was reacting to news that approximately 20 governors within the forum recently named the Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, as their new chairman.
The development reportedly followed a resolve to remove the incumbent chairman of the forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma.
It was also suggested that the change in leadership occurred during an extraordinary meeting of about 20 All Progressives Congress (APC) governors held in Abuja on Thursday night.

A source privy to the development told Daily Post that the meeting was held at the Ogun Government Lodge in Abuja on Thursday night.
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun; Douye Diri of Bayelsa State; Peter Mbah of Enugu State; and 17 others were reportedly in attendance.
However, reacting to the report, Aluko described the information as “false and misleading.”
The PGF Director added that no such meeting took place, insisting that the Imo State Governor remains the chairman of the body.
