Peter Obi governed Anambra State twice as an APGA candidate but has not recorded much political success since he left for PDP

National Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Victor Oye, has said Peter Obi must return to his party to have a say in Nigerian politics.
Peter Obi, who contested on the APGA platform, governed Anambra State between 2006 to 2014 after the Supreme removed Chirs Ngige of PDP, and declared him the winner of the 2005 election.
He was also impeached by the Anambra State House of Assembly for gross misconduct but was once again, reinstated by the court, which deemed his removal illegal.

He, however, left APGA for PDP in 2014, where he became the party’s vice-presidential candidate and the running mate to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the 2019 general election.
The party went on to lose the election to the incumbent and the flag bearer of All Progressives Congress (APC), President Muhammadu Buhari.
In a chat with Arise TV on Monday, Oye claimed that Peter Obi’s memorable moments were his time in the APGA party.
He also added that for the businessman to remain politically relevant and get back to his glory days, he must return to APGA
“Go to Anambra state, workers are paid every 25th to 27th of the month. No government since Peter Obi till now has failed in that responsibility. Remember that Peter Obi was in APGA, and he performed superlatively when he was in APGA, but the moment he left, the APGA spirit left him, and he never achieved anything ever since,” Oye said.
Peter Obi could not prevent the defeat of his candidate, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, in his local government, as he was roundly beaten by APGA candidate, Prof Charles Soludo in the recent gubernatorial election.
