Patience Ozokwo justifies playing villainous characters in movies

Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwo, also known as Mama G, has defended her decision to play roles portraying wicked characters and strict mothers-in-law in movies, saying, “I am extremely proud of it.”

She made this known while interacting with an audience whose faces were not shown in a now-trending video that recently made the rounds.

Over the years, the 67-year-old movie star has played villainous roles in a series of movies she has featured in. Some of these performances have become so memorable that her fans have created memes inspired by her movie roles.

However, during a recent interaction, a lady asked her how she feels about playing such roles.

Responding, Ozokwo explained that she has been helping to expose the ills in society—issues that many people are unwilling to address. She went on to say she is proud that her performances and movie roles shed light on societal problems.

Ozokwo further expressed confidence that her fans are proud of her for playing these impactful characters.

She said: “I feel bold enough to expose the ills in society. Nobody wants to expose them, but I am doing it. I am extremely proud of myself, and I know that Mama G’s lovers will be proud of me too.”
