Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prof. Viola Onwuliri, has commended the nomination of the National Deputy Financial Secretary of the Peopls Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Gerald Irona as the Imo State PDP deputy governorship candidate.
The governorship flagbearer of the PDP, Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, on Monday, through a press statement, signed by Dr. Vin Udokwu, Director General, Ihedioha Campaign Organization, announced his choice of running mate.
Prof. Onwuliri exclaimed with joy, “Wow! This is great. Congratulations Your Excellency. Hon. Irona is a very good choice”, adding that, “Together we will definitely rebuild Imo, by the special grace of God. Kudos”.
Hon. Irona, a Chemical Engineer, represented Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta/Oru West Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, where he was Deputy Chairman, Committee on Gas Resources.
He was the Executive Chairman of Oguta LGA and member of Imo State House of Assembly.
