Ondo PDP visits Peretei, rejects resignation letter

The Ondo State Caretaker Committee on Friday paid an unscheduled visit to the State Publicity Secretary, Mr Kennedy Peretei in his Akure residence.
In a statement issued by the State Director of Media And Publicity of the party, Leye Igbabo stated that the visit led by the State Chairman, Rt Hon. Bakkita Bello told Mr Peretei that the recent happenings in the Party were not sufficient enough to make him resign his membership and therefore prevailed on him to reconsider his resignation.
According to him, after allowing all the visiting State Caretaker Committee members to contribute meaningfully to the discussion, Dr Bakkita capped it all “Yes, you have the right to feel offended if you need to. But you must also understand as an experienced politician that a combination of factors are always responsible for any particular action or resolution of a political party.
“You are a true party man and the reason we have come to make you change your mind. You have to rescind your decision to quit the party because we are not accepting your resignation letter,” the State Chairman concluded.
Earlier on, the State Publicity Secretary had told the Committee members why he took such decision to quit the Party saying that he felt betrayed and disappointed by the attitude of some persons whom he held in high esteem.
Members of the the Caretaker Committee who attended the meeting included the State Woman Leader Hon. Princess Kemi Adesanya, the State Youth Leader Comrade Babatunde Daodu, State Financial Secretary, Hon Boluwaji Bamidele, State Organizing Secretary Engr Dare Akinwale and the Ondo State Central Senatorial Woman Leader Hon Mrs Mercy Akinlami. Others include the State Director of Media And Publicity Leye Igbabo and the Directorate Officer Prince Niyi Akinola.
