Former-aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has reprimanded Nigerians for showing more interest in the recently concluded BBNaija reality show than good governance.
Omokri, who expressed this feelings through a tweet on his Twitter handle, called the enthusiasm Nigerians showed during the show a misplaced priority
The former aide, wondered why people attached more importance to voting for housemates, an act which filters our money away to South Africa, than raising funds for presidential candidates who can emancipate the country.
“One billion votes! I can’t even begin to imagine how much money DSTV and the BBNaija organisers made.
“Money that will be transferred to their home country, South Africa. Meanwhile, we Nigerians won’t donate money if a honest, capable Presidential aspirant needs it,” he tweeted
Omokri must have listened to John Ugbe. Multichoice CEO, who recently revealed that a whooping N4.3 billion was spent on hosting the show and a total of 1 billion votes was gathered from Nigerians in the process, to come to this conclusion. .
