Afrobeats singer, songwriter, and actress, Omawumi Boma Megbele-Yussuf, simply known as Omawumi, has clarified her relationships with late rapper, Dagrin, and late music producer, Dokta Frabz.
Omawumi and Dagrin were rumoured to be romantically involved after the release of their collaborative hit, ‘Thank God,’ in 2009.
While addressing the speculations in a recent interview with Jay On Air, the artist insisted that her relationship with the late rapper was purely platonic.
The 43-year-old, however, admitted that she had a cordial relationship with Dagrin and that they often hung out when he was alive.
“Dagrin was my guy, we used to hang out together. He was a fantastic person,” she said.
Omawumi, however, admitted that she did date late producer Dokta Frabz.
“I was drawn to Dokta Frabz because he was such a lover of music. He was incredibly talented. He would look into my eyes while singing and I would be cheering.
“And because of that, I was always around him—in his studio. I met most of the music industry figures through Dokta Frabz. We actually dated,” she said.
Dagrin died in an auto crash in April 2010, while Dokta Frabz passed away in 2021.
