The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has advised corps members to stop engaging in the sharing of negative social media posts, especially when it concerns the scheme and the country.
He gave the warning in Issele-Uku, Delta State, while addressing the 2025 Batch ‘C’ corps members at the state’s orientation camp.

Earlier, the NYSC Delta State Coordinator, Mr John Kwaghe, had presented a Camp situation report to the DG, stating that 2,101 corps members, comprising 944 males and 1,157 females, were deployed to the State in the new batch.

While counselling the new corps members, Brig. Gen. Nafiu made it clear that sharing of negative social media posts would attract sanctions.
The DG further added that instead of such practices, they should focus on creating content that would positively project both the Scheme and Nigeria’s image.
He also warned them against unauthorised journeys, adding, “Follow simple instructions, be obedient, go for your biometrics and go for your Community Development Service.
“Learn and respect the cultural values of your host communities and do not misrepresent us at your place of primary assignment.”
