Nwabali makes U-turn, rejoins South African club Chippa United

​Nwabali first joined Chippa United from Katsina United in 2022 and subsequently made 66 league appearances.

​Nigeria’s Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has made a surprising return to South African club Chippa United.

​The return of the former Enyimba goaltender was confirmed on Sunday on X by the Eastern Cape outfit.

​Nwabali left Chippa United in February after requesting that the “Chilli Boys” terminate his contract with the club.

​However, the shot-stopper has made what appears to be a U-turn, returning to the outfit after failing to secure a move to another club.

​Announcing the return of the 30-year-old, the Betway Premiership club wrote: “Chippa United Football Club is delighted to welcome Stanley Nwabali back to the Chilli Boys. After taking time away, Stanley Nwabali returns to the Eastern Cape, and we are pleased to welcome him back to the club.”
