England midfielder Jude Bellingham has said his manager, Thomas Tuchel, does not understand what it takes to play against Norway’s top stars.

He made this known while reacting to the German tactician’s comments following the Three Lions’ narrow 2-1 win over the Vikings in the World Cup quarter-finals.

Bellingham’s brace helped England rally from behind to secure a win against Norway after extra time.

In his post-match media address, Tuchel expressed his displeasure with the team’s performance despite the victory.

Although the former Chelsea boss praised Bellingham, describing him as a world-class star, he noted that his players were careless, hasty, and committed technical errors, adding that they were lucky to advance.

He said: “The result is fantastic, we are in the last four. It’s amazing. I’m not happy with the performance.

”In every sense. The commitment is there, but we made life very, very difficult for ourselves in the way we played, how we played.

”Sloppy, tactical mistakes, not fast enough. Not repetitive enough. We were lucky enough.”

Reacting, Bellingham said that Tuchel’s remarks after the victory over Norway meant the German does not understand what it means to come up against the likes of Erling Haaland, Martin Ødegaard, Antonio Nusa, and Alexander Sørloth.

The Real Madrid midfielder added that it was a challenging match made more difficult by the quality of players at Norway’s disposal.

Asked to respond to Tuchel’s criticism,
Bellingham said: “Maybe he [Tuchel] doesn’t know what it’s like to play in those conditions against Haaland, Ødegaard, Nusa, and Sørloth.

“That’s not an easy team to play against.”

With the hard-fought win, England are now set to face Argentina—who beat Switzerland—in the semi-finals of the World Cup.
