Nkechi Blessing and Phyna had earlier gone for each other’s jugulars online, with the latter clapping back after the former chastised her for her constant online fights.

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing and Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality star Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, better known as Phyna, are set to settle their ongoing rift in a celebrity boxing match.
This was disclosed on Friday by the organisers of the bout, Balmoral, in a now-trending post shared on Instagram.
The celebrity boxing match announcement came a few hours after Nkechi Blessing and Phyna engaged in a heated exchange on social media.
It all started when the former chastised the latter online over her frequent squabbles with other netizens, saying, “You’re becoming a nuisance.”
Speaking in a video, Nkechi Blessing said: “Phyna, must you fight with everybody in this internet space? You’re doing too much. Every time you come online, you talk to people anyhow. You’re becoming a nuisance here.”

Responding, Phyna said she found the entire situation baffling, questioning why Blessing would escalate a minor scheduling matter into a public confrontation.
The former BBNaija winner did not hold back in her response, calling the thespian names including “grandmother” and “old woman”, while also questioning whether she was being bullied.
Hours after the exchange, Balmoral announced that the duo will face each other in a celebrity fight scheduled for 1 October 2026 at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos State.
Sharing the poster, the organisers wrote: “Plot twist? Let’s see what the women can do. Phyna VS Nkechi. The rivalry is real. Now, let’s see who backs it up when the bell rings.”
