Popular Nigerian socialite and crypto entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, better known as Blord, has set tongues wagging online after claiming he escaped a kidnap attempt alongside his son and sister-in-law.

Narrating the horrific incident in a now-trending video, he noted that it occurred while he was driving his son to school.

According to the businessman, a blue Corolla double-crossed him and four men got out with guns, shooting at his tyres.

He, however, added that he eventually outwitted them and “vanished” after switching his Mercedes to sports mode.

Speaking in the clip, Blord said: “I was taking my son to school around 7am in the morning. I had a blue Corolla double-cross my car. Four guys with guns came out and shot my tyre. They chased me, but because of my GLE, I put it on sports mode and I vanished. Their Corolla couldn’t keep up. My son and my wife’s elder sister—we were three in the car.”

After the video surfaced on social media, it led to a backlash as netizens expressed doubts about the story.

While some argued that Blord’s experience was exaggerated, others labelled him a “habitual storyteller”.

Reacting to the story, an internet user identified as @Fatboi__NG said: “They shot your tyre, but somehow your GLA, a 4-plug, got on sports mode and you vanished. Well done oh.”

Another Nigerian, @Chiluxy0, commented: “Lol, this man lies too much. They shot your tyre but it didn’t deflate? Just don’t wish bad upon yourself, because if it truly happened, you wouldn’t have been able to escape it as nobody would help you, so they wouldn’t die.”

@bril5ny added: “They shot your tyre and you put it on sports mode 😭”

Meanwhile, another netizen, @ManhartPat11630, said: “VDM really humbled this guy. His lifestyle has gone low-key; now Blord is all about family.”
