The Federal Government of Nigeria on Wednesday, ordered the immediate reopening of four land borders.

Nigeria had in August 2019 closed its land borders to curtail illegal importation of drugs, small arms and agricultural products into Nigeria from neighbouring West African nations.

The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, who made the disclosure  while addressing State House correspondents after the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting, said that other land borders would be opened by December 31, 2020.

The borders are Seme in the Southwest, Illela in Sokoto State, Maigatari in the Northwest, and Mfun in the South-south.
