Nigeria to face Tunisia, Tanzania, Uganda in Group C of 2025 AFCON

Nigeria finished second at the last edition of AFCON losing 2-1 to Cote d’Ivoire in the final

Nigeria have been drawn in Group C of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) alongside Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania.

The draw ceremony took place at the Mohammed V National Theatre, Rabat on Monday night.

All but two of the 52 Confederation of African Football (CAF) members participated in the qualifying series.

Following the preliminary round, 48 teams were divided into 12 groups of four, playing home and away in a total of six matches, with 24 teams eventually qualifying for the 2025 edition of AFCON.

The Super Eagles were among the seeded teams at the draw.

Hosts Morocco are in Group A with Mali, Zambia and Comoros.

Group B consists of Egypt, South Africa, Angola and Zimbabwe.

Senegal, DR Congo, Benin, Botswana make up Group D.

North African nation, Algeria will slog it out with Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea and Sudan in Group E.

While defending champions,
Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, Gabon and Mozambique are in Group F.

Nigeria finished second at the 2023 edition of AFCON, losing 2-1 to Cote d’Ivoire in the final.

This year’s tournament is scheduled to run from December 21, 2025 until January 18, 2026 and will take place in six cities.
