Fulham defender, Calvin Bassey, has argued that the best side did not win on Sunday night, following the Cottagers 1-0 home defeat to Manchester United.

Marco Silva’s side dominated the Premier League encounter but failed to convert their chances.

The Red Devils stole maximum points from the game after Lisandro Martinez scored the winner late in the game from a deflected shot.

In-form winger, Amad Diallo made it 2-0 to Man United in added time but his goal was cancelled after VAR ruled he was offside.

Speaking after the encounter, Calvin Bassey posited that the Whites deserved more from the game.

He went on to add that the visitors did not create a lot of chances to deserve the victory.

“I thought we deserved more. We controlled the game, and it wasn’t our day,” the Super Eagles’ defender told TNT Sports.

“You need a bit of luck in football, and it didn’t come our way today.

“They didn’t create too much to trouble us. We were aware of their quality.

“We had a lot of chances; maybe in the final part at the end could have been better.
