A viral video of three police officers pounding a man with sticks has sent shock waves on social media.
It is not clear where the incident happened. It is also not clear why the policemen were brutally hitting the man with sticks. What is however clear from the video is the man poses no physical danger to the policemen.
The policemen even pulled the trousers of their victim halfway during the torture despite the Anti-torture Act 2017 that criminalizes such action.
Nigerians have expressed disgust over the actions of the policemen on X.

Nigeria handed over guns and authority to mad men, who should be receiving treatment in an asylum with both legs and hands chained.”
