NASS seeking to guillotine NGOs

-

Dear Sir,

I am writing in the light of the recent bill that the National Assembly seeks to use to regulateNGOs and CSOs in Nigeria. This bill, on the face of it looks harmless, but I can assure you that it is a toxic bill which would eventually send us back to colonial times.

This Bill defeats and carpets the essence of democracy and tramples on the foundation of the right to freely associate. It makes the realization of our rights a futile adventure.

Often times our governments engage in frivolous adventures as opposed to pursuing beneficial policies for Nigerians. They want to use the Bill to kill any opposition. Our people must come together and resit it.
