Popular skit maker Nasiru Lawal, better known as Nasboi, has expressed his disapproval of comments made by his colleague, Oderhohwo Joseph Efe (a.k.a. Carter Efe), after he downplayed the relevance of skit making.

Nasboi criticised the skit maker-turned-streamer during a recent interview with Naija FM in Lagos.

Carter Efe set tongues wagging on social media recently after claiming, during an appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast, that skit making ‘is dead’.

According to him, he became depressed because he felt the medium was ‘dying’, until launching his streaming career revived his prospects.

Reacting to the remarks, Nasboi berated Carter Efe, arguing that his colleague committed a ‘crime’ by dismissing the very industry that brought him into the limelight.

Speaking during the chat, he said: “Evolving is not a bad idea, but talking down on the industry that made you is a crime in my books. Carter Efe is my friend; we speak all the time. But he is a loose talker.

”You can’t say skit making is dead. People are blowing up every day with skit making.

’The fact that people have evolved doesn’t mean that the industries they are leaving are dead.”
