Manchester United made up for their 7-0 annihilation in the hands of local rivals, Liverpool by beating Real Betis 4-1 in the round of 16 Europa League games played at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

Marcus Rashford opened the scoring for the Reds Devils as early as the 6th minute, with a rifling strike that flew past Claudio Bravo in an emphatic fashion.

But despite an excellent start by the hosts, their goal was cancelled out just after the half-hour mark when on-loan Ayoze Perez fired across David De Gea into the bottom corner.

Erik ten Hag’s men began the second half strongly and were duly rewarded when Antony restored United’s lead with a trademark effort that curled beyond the keeper in the 52nd minute.

United then put themselves in a strong position ahead of the return leg in Seville, when Wout Weghorst, scored his first goal in front of the Old Trafford faithful to end the game 4-1.
