Makinde is the candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the 2027 presidential election.

The Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Nureni Adeniran, has been appointed as the presidential campaign coordinator of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in the state.
This development was conveyed in a statement issued on Wednesday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, by Governor Seyi Makinde’s Special Adviser on Media, Dr Suleimon Olanrewaju.
According to him, the SUBEB boss will equally double as the Director-General of the Governorship Campaign Council of the APM in Oyo State.

This means that, apart from overseeing the presidential campaign of Governor Makinde, he will also superintend over the 2027 election bid of the Oyo State APM governorship candidate, Bimbo Adekanmbi.
Other members of the council, the statement said, include Mr Saheed Arowosaye, a former Chairman of Oyo East LG, who will serve as the deputy coordinator, and the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Demola Ojo, who will serve as deputy D-G (South).
Olanrewaju further noted that Governor Makinde, who is the APM presidential candidate, will inaugurate the council on Friday in the conference room of the Governor’s Office.
