At the resumption of trial of the former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reformed Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina, he has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to grant him bail on health ground.
Maina is standing trial for N2billion money laundering charges.
He was first given bail but breached the terms by fleeing to Niger Republic. He was captured by the Interpol after the trial judge, Okon Abang, in October last year, revoked his earlier bail and issued an arrest warrant against him.
At Wednesday’s proceedings, Maina’s lawyer, Anayo Adibe, said he filed a fresh bail application on behalf of his client because of his client’s “worsening health condition” in detention.
The judge adjourned hearing on the bail application till February 1.
