Lawmaker rehabilitates Islamic schools in Yobe North

Construction work has commenced across the six local governments of Yobe North Senatorial District of Yobe State in High Islamic schools as part of the constituency projects of Senator Ahmad Lawan (CON).

Lawan, the majority leader in the Nigerian Senate, flagged off the constituency project designed to promote Islamiya education alongside western education to inculcate religious knowledge and morality.

The ongoing work across the six councils is expected to generate over 100 direct and indirect jobs for the citizens of Yobe State as well as complement ongoing developmental projects being delivered by the Yobe State government under the leadership of Governor Ibrahim Geidam of Yobe State.

On the initiative at the High Islam educational institutions located in the six councils, Lawan disclosed that three block of classrooms were to be constructed in each of the six local government areas.

According to him, toilet facility and hand-pump boreholes are to be constructed alongside the three block of classrooms in each of the High Islam  institutions.

“As earlier informed, the three block of classrooms being funded by Distinguished Senator Ahmad Lawan in High-Islam Schools will be constructed in the six local government areas under Yobe North Senatorial District.

“Each of the three block of classrooms will have toilet facility attached along with hand-pump borehole.

“As we speak, the contract for the award of Gashua High-Islam started last month and near completion. The contractor is working earnestly to ensure timely delivery of the multi-million naira school project which is so dear to Distinguished Senator Lawan who is a seasoned educationist.

“It is also worthy of note to inform you that the contractors assigned to construct the three block of classrooms in Jakusko, Karasuwa and Yusufari local government areas have mobilized to site on Friday, January 13, 2017.

“Senator Lawan’s delight is to put smiles on the faces of thousands of students in all the High-Islam institutions spread across the state by providing conducive environment for them.”

The Yobe lawmaker also assured that the construction of the three block of classrooms for Nguru and Machina was awarded waiting for contractors to mobilized to site.
