The commissioner of police in Lagos State, Moshood Jimoh has declared Sahara Reporters founder, Omoyele Sowore, wanted for allegedly plotting to incite public unrest and disrupt major roads in the state.

Jimoh announced this on Monday during a press briefing at the lyana-Oworo section of the Third Mainland Bridge.

Jimoh alleged that Sowore ignored earlier warnings not to organize protest over the recent demolition of houses in the Oworonshoki area. The police believe his planned protest could disrupt public peace and obstruct traffic, which was why he has been declared wanted.

“I hereby, as the Commissioner of Police, Lagos state police Command, declare Sowore wanted for the act of causing disturbance of public peace.” Jimoh said.
