Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, has said his team lost the FA Cup quarter-final to Man United on Sunday evening because of his players’ decision-making in the final third.

He made this known while reflecting on his team’s 4-3 defeat to the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

Liverpool were minutes away from qualifying for the semi-finals of the FA Cup on two occasions, only for Ten Hag’s men to score two equalisers.

Amad Diallo then netted a last-minute winner in extra time to put the icing on the cake and book United’s semi-final spot against Coventry City at the Wembley Stadium.

The loss kills off Klopp’s hopes of winning a Quadruple in his last season at Anfield, but he still retains the hope of adding the Europa League Cup and Premier League title to the Carabao Cup he already won.

Speaking with ITV after the defeat, Klopp said: “We could have won the game and we would have deserved it. But United deserved it as well.

“At 2-1 up we had so many chances to kill the game. Last pass not right, or in a rush in some moments. The rest is already history, if you want.

“The longer the game goes, the decision-making does not get any better. Congratulations to United, going to the semi-final, we have a game less, or have two games less, and we try to use that in the next few weeks.”
