German tactician and former Bayern Munich striker, Jürgen Klinsmann, has named South American giants Brazil and European nation Portugal as the two major favourites for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
He made this known on the latest episode of Stick to Football, a popular sports and football video and audio podcast hosted by The Overlap.
He, however, admitted that apart from these two nations, England also have the quality to win the World Cup if they show desire.

The 61-year-old former forward further noted that the Portuguese gaffer, Roberto Martínez, is a “very good coach”.
Speaking on the show, Klinsmann said, “My two favourites are Portugal, because I see a little bit of similarities to Argentina and Qatar, where everybody played for Messi.”
He added, “Portugal, everybody plays for Ronaldo. Cristiano is fully supported by this incredible team. It’s an incredible team of quality. With a very, very good coach, Roberto Martínez.
“I think Brazil also has a shot at it, and England has absolute quality, if they have the belief.”
