Kizz Daniel profits as “Buga’ hits 100m views on YouTube

Kizz Daniel said ‘Buga’ means to honour hard effort, devotion, and accomplishment, not extolling arrogance and ingratitude

Afrobeats star and songwriter, Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe, better known as Kizz Daniel, has shown his appreciation to his fans and other netizens after his popular song “Buga” hit 100 million views on YouTube. 

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) the hit track in May, made waves among young and older music lovers and eventually became the number one song Nigerians sought this year on google search.

Kizz Daniel, while acknowledging his supporters after the feat, took to his Instagram page to celebrate and share the good news, thanking his fans for their constant support.

According to the 28-year-old artiste,  this is his first 100 million views of any of his songs on the microblogging platform, YouTube, as he wishes for many more of more accomplishments to come.

“Celebrate your success, no matter the matter, it attracts more than 100 million views in five months. Thank you l am grateful.

“This is my first 100 million views on content on YouTube and many more to come by HIS GRACE, #BUGA,” the “Woju” crooner wrote.

Meanwhile, the singer who had earlier stated that ‘Buga’ meant ‘Show Off’, added that in this context, it meant to honour hard effort, devotion, and accomplishment, not extolling arrogance and ingratitude.

“Buga” is undoubtedly one of the most popular songs in the country at the moment because it is the number one song on Apple Music’s Top 100 Chart in Nigeria.

The song, which featured Tekno, another top-class singer from Nigeria, was one of the top five afrobeat songs in the world, as well as the most shazamed song in the world.
