Nigerian Afrobeats singer and songwriter Oluwatobiloba Anidugbe, popularly known as Kizz Daniel, has explained why he decided to take a break from music, stating, “I paused for my mom.”
He made this known on Friday via X (formerly Twitter) while responding to a netizen who was trying to guess why he had not yet released a new album.
The fan, identified on the platform as @VicroyDominion1, suggested that the singer’s busy schedule was what caused him to pause work on a new project.

However, responding to the post, the ‘Laye’ crooner clarified that the break was not the result of working on a new album. Instead, he attributed his decision to stay away from music for a while to the death of his mother earlier this year.
Kizz Daniel wrote: “I paused for my Mom, not an album… Lost her this year, but I gotta keep moving for the rest of the family… sorry I came late this year.”
