Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has claimed that thugs wielding “dangerous weapons” and allegedly loyal to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) looted shops and destroyed campaign billboards of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Delta State on Friday.
He levelled the allegation against the opposition party on Sunday, September 18, 2026, in a post he shared on his official X handle.
According to the APC chieftain, the assailants wreaked havoc on billboards pasted everywhere by Tompolo’s Door-to-Door Campaign Organisation, and looted people’s shops in his community in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
He went on to criticise what he described as unequal reactions to political violence, adding that he decided to share the incident for the world to see what the NDC’s thugs are up to.
The minister, while accusing the media of bias, further argued that the response would have been different if the victims were members of the NDC.
Taking to his verified handle, Keyamo wrote, “If it had been the other way round against the APC, the section of the biased Press and so-called human rights groups would have been screaming to high heavens, but since this happened, everywhere is mute.”

He went on to compare the incident to the recent blockade of the entourage of the NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in Benue State.
Keyamo noted that although he had condemned that incident, he believes the recent attack in Delta was worse.
“This is the exact point I made when I openly condemned the blockade of Peter Obi’s entourage from entering Benue State. But what happened in Benue is nothing compared to this,” he added.
Keyamo further alleged that some law enforcement officers accompanied the attackers.
“The video is clear and the evidence is overwhelming. We have more evidence. The thugs were even accompanied by law-enforcement agents on their payroll.”
He said he had advised his supporters against taking the law into their own hands and announced plans to submit a petition to the Inspector-General of Police this week.
“I have warned everyone not to resort to self-help,” the minister advised members of his party.
