Kano billionaire Aminu Dantata dies at 94

Kano-based businessman and philanthropist, Aminu Dantata, has died aged 94.
The elder statesman, reports say, died in the early hours of Saturday.
Dantata’s principal private secretary Mustapha Junaid announced the development in a post on Facebook.
He wrote, “Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. It is with heavy heart that I announce the passing of our beloved father Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and forgive his shortcomings.”
He added that the funeral detail would be announced later.
In May 2024, President Bola Tinubu received Dantata, who was the Chairman of Dantata Group of Companies, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The last time both men were seen together was in the buildup to the 2023 elections when Tinubu visited him in Kano.
