Wike ally, Dan Orbih, is dead
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a major figure in Edo politics, Dan Orbih, has died.
Orbih, an ally of the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, reportedly died on Monday, August 31, 2026.
The family announced his death in a statement signed by Francis Udukhomoi Orbih, Esq., on behalf of the Orbih family.
The family described the death as a painful loss, saying the announcement was made “with profound sadness and a heavy heart but in total submission to the will of the almighty God.”
According to the statement, Orbih is survived by his wife, Mrs. Florence Orbih; his children, Ms. Winifred Anwosiobor Orbih and Dr. Mildred Omonemi Orbih; his brothers and sisters; and other members of the extended family.
The family appealed to relatives, friends and well-wishers to support them with prayers as they come to terms with his death.
“At this difficult time, we ask family members, friends and well-wishers to remember the entire family in their prayers as we mourn this painful loss,” the statement read.
The family added that further details concerning the funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
