Afrobeats star and music producer David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has warned netizens that their kind gestures could go either way, urging them to keep records of such deeds.
The ‘Electricity’ hitmaker shared the thought-provoking message about helping others during an appearance on The Uncut podcast, which recently surfaced online.
While addressing the unpredictability of life, the award-winning artist noted that acts of kindness can lead to unexpected outcomes.

He said, “In life, you never know where your kindness can take you. It can either take you up or down.”
Just as it seemed Davido had gotten the message off his chest, he introduced a surprising twist, adding, “That is why when you help people, always keep receipts. Don’t play with me.”
After the singer’s message found its way onto social media, it elicited mixed reactions from fans and other netizens.
While many shared his sentiment that helping others is noble, those who disagreed argued such acts should be done without expecting reciprocity and ought not to be documented.
