Just in: Dockworkers shutdown operations at APM over anti-labour activities

Activities at APM Terminals Apapa have been grounded by the Dockworkers Branch of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) over alleged anti- labour activities by the port concessionaire.

The gate of the terminal has been barricaded with vehicles  as workers have been asked to leave the facility with immediate effect.

The Dockworkers Branch , President Comrade Ohize Tajudeen Ibrahim and some of the district Chairmen who are currently on ground at the entry points of the terminal called on workers to go home as the industrial action begins from today , Thursday April 15, 2021.
Members from other district within the Lagos Ports Complex are also strategizing on how to join the aggrieved workers at APM.Terminal Apapa in solidarity support to drive home their demands.
Recall that the union had issues a seven day ultimatum to the port concessionaire over issues bothering on outsourcing of security jobs to foreigners.
