British pundit and former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, has justified why the appointment of the Red Devils’ caretaker boss, Michael Carrick, should be made permanent after guiding the club to a 2-1 victory over bitter rivals Liverpool in a league encounter.
He made a case for the English tactician on Sunday evening during his post-match analysis with Sky Sports.
Since taking the reins from Ruben Amorim in January, Carrick has guided United to 10 wins in 14 matches, and they have all but secured third position barring a catastrophic ending to the season.

According to Neville, the former United midfielder will bring stability to the red half of Manchester if he is made the manager on a permanent basis.
The United legend believes Carrick has propelled himself into the front-runner position after steering the club to Champions League qualification via a thrilling victory over Liverpool.
Speaking after the encounter, he said: “No one else is being seriously linked with the job. He’s put himself in pole position with what he’s accomplished.
“Man Utd need some stability. They have not had that for the last few years, but he’ll bring that in the sense that everyone trusts him.”
