Pundit and former England international, Owen Hargreaves has advised Manchester United boss, Ruben Amorim to use winger, Bryan Mbeumo in the central striking position instead of Benjamin Sesko.

He made the suggestion on Thursday while featuring as a guest on TNT Sports.

The former midfielder said Amorim will have to change captain Bruno Fernandes’ position to reignite his attacking instincts and improve his ability to provide assists.

Speaking ahead of Man United’s Premier League tie with Sunderland at Old Trafford on Saturday, Hargreaves argued that Amorim’s decision to play the Portuguese as a box-to-box midfielder is hindering his productivity.

Speaking on the show, he said, “They decided to get goals and sign proven Premier League players in Cunha and Mbeumo, which I like.

“But now Bruno has to play deeper to get on the ball and create. He is not playing his natural position; he is playing deeper.

“He is playing as a box-to-box midfielder. Bruno is one of the best creators in the division. So you have got to play him in his natural position.

“But because they play two 10s, you could argue Man Utd’s two best players last season were Amad and Bruno.

“I would love to see Bruno play as a 10, maybe with Mbeumo as a No. 9.”
