Gov. Inuwa to grace Gombe Emir Cup final as Nafada, Shehu Football clubs clash

Nafada Emirate Council Football and Late Shehu Abubakar teams have qualified for the final of 2026 Gombe Emir’s soccer competition tagged: King’s Cup.
They emerged after the semi-finals played at Army Barracks Gombe, which saw Nafada Emirate defeat Dukku FC 3-1 while Late Shehu Abubakar fc beat Funakaye by a lone goal.
With these results, the two teams will slug it out in the grand final of the championship which is expected to attract personalities such as the Governor, traditional rulers, football administrators and sports stakeholders within and outside Gombe state.
Among the guests expected are: Governor Inuwa Yahaya, the Emir of Gombe, Dr. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar and the President of the Nigerian Football Federation NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau.
The championship was organized and sponsored by the Chief Executive Officer of Green White Green outfit, Hon Ahmad Shuaibu Gara Gombe.
It is aimed at developing, promoting and discovering the hidden talent of players for deployment on to greener pastures within and outside the country.
The sponsorship is also part of his determination and contributions to sustain the existing cordial relationship, peace and unity among various ethnic community in the state
Rewards in the class of money, trophies, certificates, gifts and golden handshake would be splashed on the deserving players, teams and administrators at the closing ceremony scheduled to hold at Pantami Stadium, Gombe state
