‘We know what’s at stake’ – Ohale assures Super Falcons fans ahead of WAFCON clash with Egypt

​Super Falcons defender, Osinachi Ohale, has assured Nigerians that she and her teammates will not let them down when they battle against Egypt in their final group game of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

​She made the promise while addressing journalists at the pre-match press conference in Rabat, Morocco.

​Nigeria’s Super Falcons will tackle the Cleopatras of Egypt in their last group game at the Olympic Stadium on Wednesday night.

​The defending champions began the defence of their title on a disappointing note, going down 3-2 against tournament debutants, the Scorchers of Malawi.

​Justine Madugu’s team, however, bounced back, scraping a narrow 1-0 win over Zambia’s Copper Queens in their second group fixture.

​The West Africans will need an emphatic win against their North African counterparts, as well as a favourable result from the other Group C fixture between Malawi and Zambia.

​Only these outcomes can guarantee a place in the quarter-finals and a possible ticket to the next Women’s World Cup.

​Speaking ahead of the make-or-break encounter, Ohale assured Nigerian fans that the squad understands what is at stake and will give everything to secure a resounding victory.

​”The game against Egypt is even more important than the first and second games we’ve played,” Ohale said.

​”We already know what is at stake, we know the importance of the game, and we will take it with all seriousness and do better than our last game.”
