Femi Gbajabiamila, honourable member from Surulere, Lagos state has been elected Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives.
He secured 283 votes to defeat his only challenger, Umar Bago who polled 76 votes.
National chairman of All Progressives Congress(APC), Adams Oshiomhole, and other APC members could not hide their excitement immediately Gbajabiamila was declared elected.
The clerk of the House who supervised the election said 358 out of 360 members were accredited to vote.
