British pundit and former Chelsea captain Gary Cahill has berated Blues goalkeeper Robert Sanchez for his below-par performance in their Premier League fixture against Everton on Saturday.
He slammed the Spanish international while reflecting on the London club’s humbling by the Toffees.
Chelsea suffered yet another defeat in the Premier League on Saturday, a result that follows their 8-2 aggregate loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
Cahill specifically singled out Sanchez for allowing the ball to slip through his legs for Everton’s second goal during the 3-0 defeat.

“Clearly, the goalkeeper will be extremely disappointed with that; you know, nine times out of ten, he would typically gather those, but it went through his legs,” Cahill stated, as reported by Metro.
“Very careless, very careless. Currently, these situations are proving to be costly,” he further remarked.
Sanchez has now conceded 52 goals in 41 total appearances for his club this season. However, the 28-year-old Spanish goalkeeper has also kept 14 clean sheets across various competitions.
Chelsea currently sit sixth in the 2025-26 Premier League standings with 48 points from 31 matches—one point behind fifth-placed Liverpool and two points ahead of Everton in eighth.
