The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has dismissed speculations that the ruling party is on the verge of collapse and that he will soon switch to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He made this known in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu.

TheNiche had earlier reported that former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, while addressing PDP members during the party’s congress held at Aminu Kano Triangle, assured them that APC will implode before the 2027 election.

He also said Ganduje and other prominent APC chieftains will return to the PDP.

He said, “I’m confident that all those who left the PDP will return, including Ganduje, because very soon, the APC will burst and split into factions, having accommodated people with different mindsets.”

Responding to the comments by Lamido, Ganduje reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC.

He went on to say claim that he’ll defect to PDP was baseless and illogical, emphasising that there was no reason for him to leave the ruling party for what he described as a “failing opposition.”

The APC Chairman also predicted that the opposition party will go into extinction by the end of 2025.

“It is evident to any discerning observer that under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC continues to gain momentum, with prominent political figures across the country defecting to the party in large numbers,” the statement said.

“With such overwhelming national support, the APC remains focused on consolidating its achievements and preparing for a resounding victory in the 2027 general elections.

“In fact, we will soon receive Sule Lamido because very soon he won’t have where to go, the PDP is dead.”

Ganduje reaffirmed pride in leading the APC and reiterated dedication to deepening internal party democracy and promoting sustainable governance and development.

He advised Lamido to focus on resolving the PDP’s internal crises instead of engaging in unfounded speculation.
