Former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, has assured members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will implode before the 2027 election.
He made this known recently while speaking at the PDP congress held at Aminu Kano Triangle in Jigawa.
According to him, that ruling APC will split soon and its National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje and other prominent chieftains will return to the PDP.
TheNiche had earlier reported that former Delta State governor, Ifeanyi and his successor, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori decamped from PDP to APC recently.
The duo left the major opposition party with all the federal and state lawmakers from the state.
Addressing the loss suffered by the PDP during the rally, Lamido charged members of his party not to be discouraged by the defection of some of its elected officials.
He went on to attribute the defections to fear of intimidation and harassment.
He said, “I’m confident that all those who left the PDP will return, including Ganduje, because very soon, the APC will burst and split into factions, having accommodated people with different mindsets.
“I said it, and I repeat: within six months, all those who defected to the APC will come back, and the PDP will rise with full force to wrest power in 2027.”
Lamido further touched on issues of governance and leadership in Nigeria, saying they have been undermined by the APC.
“Nigeria is blessed, but the leaders are always the problem,” he said.
He, therefore, warned the APC-led government to stop intimidating the opposition, stating that such actions could lead to further instability.
