Folowosele celebrates Nigerian women on International Women’s Day 2026

Hon. Abidemi O. Obalade Folowosele has extended warm greetings and heartfelt appreciation to all Nigerian women at home and in the diaspora as the world celebrates International Women’s Day 2026.

In her message, Hon.O.A Folowosele commended the resilience, strength, and outstanding contributions of Nigerian women in nation-building, leadership, entrepreneurship, family life, and community development. She emphasized that women continue to play vital roles in shaping the future of Nigeria and the world.

Speaking on the 2026 International Women’s Day theme, “Give To Gain,” Hon. Folowosele noted that the theme highlights the importance of supporting and investing in women in order to achieve collective progress in society. The theme encourages individuals, communities, and governments to empower women through education, mentorship, opportunities, and resources, because when women thrive, families, communities, and nations prosper.

According to her, “Give To Gain reminds us that when we uplift women, support their dreams, and provide opportunities for growth, the entire society benefits. By giving support, knowledge, and encouragement to women and girls, we gain a stronger, more prosperous, and more equitable world.”

Hon. O.A. Folowosele further urged Nigerian women to remain united, courageous, and focused in their pursuit of progress, leadership, and empowerment. She also called on governments, organizations, and community leaders to continue creating policies and initiatives that promote gender equality, protect women’s rights, and expand opportunities for women across all sectors.

She added that Nigerian women have consistently demonstrated excellence in politics, business, education, and social development, and their contributions remain invaluable to the growth of the nation.

“Today, I celebrate every Nigerian woman — the mothers, daughters, professionals, entrepreneurs, and young girls who represent hope for a brighter future. Let us continue to stand strong, support one another, and work together to achieve greater heights,” she said.

Hon. Folowosele concluded by wishing all women a joyful celebration and reaffirmed her commitment to initiatives that uplift and empower women both in Nigeria and across the global community.
