Afrobeats star and songwriter Adedamola Oyinlola Adefolahan, popularly known as Fireboy DML, has recalled some frightening experiences he had after relocating to Lagos to pursue his music dreams.
The ‘Peru’ hitmaker recounted the life-changing encounters during a recent livestream with his fans and other netizens.
While opening up about the culture shock he experienced, Fireboy noted that he witnessed someone losing their sanity and saw dead bodies in the streets.

The 30-year-old artist went on to add that the level of cult activity and the appearance of Lagosians, in general, also terrified him.
He, however, refused to quit and adapted to the city’s lifestyle.
Speaking during the session, Fireboy said, “I was so scared the first time I came to Lagos in 2016, in Surulere. People’s eyes were so red, and they looked scary. In two weeks, I saw someone run mad, dead bodies and cultists. Now, I also look like those scary people.”
