Fans divided as Odumodublvck features Davido, Wizkid on latest album: “Industry Machine”

Fans are divided over Industry Machine, the new album of music star, Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck,  for featuring both Davido and Wizkid on the tracklist.

Fans of the two Afrobeats giants have been at loggerheads over who is bigger in the music industry. Their appearance on the same project has once again stirred debate online.

For over a decade, Wizkid and Davido have dominated Nigeria’s Afrobeats scene, with fans often pitting them against each other in a “who’s greater” rivalry. Now, Odumodublvck has managed to bring them together, though not on the same track. Davido appears on track 5, Grooving, alongside Seun Kuti, while Wizkid is featured on track 6, Big Time.

As soon as the album dropped, social media lit up with arguments comparing both songs and verses. Some fans praised Odumodublvck for achieving what many thought was impossible, while others reignited old feuds between the two fanbases.

A Major Milestone for Odumodublvck

Odumodublvck’s rise to fame has been years in the making. Known for his versatile music, a mix of hip-hop, grime, and Afrobeats, the rapper first broke into the mainstream after signing with Native Records in 2022. His 2023 hits Picanto and Declan Rice made him one of Nigeria’s most talked-about artists.

He went on to win Rookie of the Year and Best Rap Single at The Headies in 2023, and in 2024 earned a BET Hip Hop Awards nomination for Best International Flow.

Industry Machine
Released on October 6, 2025, Industry Machine marks Odumodublvck’s fifth studio album and is already topping charts. The 23-track project blends rap, drill, and Afrobeats, showcasing his growth and creativity.

Highlight tracks include:
Big Time (featuring Wizkid) – currently topping the Apple Music Nigeria charts.
Grooving (featuring Davido and Seun Kuti) – another fan favorite.
Pay Me (featuring Stormzy and Zlatan).
If You Like Gym (featuring Modenine).
The album’s production credits include top Nigerian producers like Telz and P.Priime, while the cover art was designed by Slawn, a frequent collaborator.
Chart Success and Fan Reactions
Within hours of release, Industry Machine hit number one on the Apple Music Nigeria Top Albums chart. “Big Time”, Wizkid’s collaboration, climbed from number nine to the top of the Top Songs chart in less than a day.

The success of Big Time has been linked to both Wizkid’s global appeal and the renewed excitement over his rivalry with Davido.

Grooving, Davido’s collaboration, also performed well but did not reach the same early momentum as Big Time.

Past Tensions Resurface
The fan division is also tied to an old controversy. In 2024, Wizkid reportedly removed a planned collaboration with Odumodublvck from his Morayo album after a public disagreement. Following that fallout, Odumodublvck worked with Davido instead.

Now that Wizkid is featured on Industry Machine, some fans see it as a sign of reconciliation, while others accuse Odumodublvck of switching sides for business reasons.

Since the album’s release, social media has been buzzing with opinions. On X (formerly Twitter), fans expressed excitement and rivalry over the Davido and Wizkid features.

On X (formerly Twitter), fans shared strong opinions about the two tracks.

One user, @YKoluwaseun9, wrote: “Once Wizkid slides on a verse, it becomes his song. Give him full minutes at your own risk.”

Another user, @rayagoescrazy, joked, “Abeg, where is Osakpolor? Grooving don dey sink again.”

On Facebook, a post by TRACE Nigeria also drew hundreds of comments. Some fans picked sides, while others called for calm.

One user, Don Pizarro, commented: “Everybody good in his own way. Davido joyful, Wizkid cool and calm. Normally both good, make we no lie. If dem play Davido, everybody go shake body. If dem drop Wizkid, everybody go begin reason far. Na so e just be.”

Another, Jude Praise Markus, wrote: “Are both songs the same? The one with Davido is more like highlife, and that of Wizkid is hip-hop. Make everybody rest, both artists did their best.”

Dave Odey Emeka, added: “Different songs and different vibes, so what are you even comparing?”

Regardless of the online drama, Industry Machine is being hailed as one of the most important Nigerian rap albums in recent years. With its mix of heavy beats, cultural pride, and star-studded features, the project cements Odumodublvck’s place as one of Africa’s leading music innovators.
