Enrique hails Arteta, foresees ‘hard’ UCL final against Arsenal

Enrique and his men beat Arsenal en route to winning the UCL last season, but the Gunners defeated them in the group stages of the competition.

Paris Saint-Germain manager, Luis Enrique, has predicted that the UEFA Champions League (UCL) final between his side and Premier League leaders, Arsenal, will be a “hard” encounter.

He made this known on Wednesday night after his team eliminated Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the European competition.

Enrique’s men, who went into the match with a 5–4 advantage from the first leg in France, took the lead in the third minute through Ousmane Dembélé.

Despite Harry Kane’s equaliser in stoppage time, the French giants booked their place in the final of the elite tournament.

Speaking ahead of the final, Enrique said he is expecting another “hard game” against the likely Premier League winners.

He also praised Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta for the squad he has built in North London.

He told reporters after the game: “I appreciate Mikelito Arteta! We used to be teammates when we were kids; he has done a great job at Arsenal.

“It will be a difficult, hard game, but we believe in our football style.”

PSG beat Arsenal on the way to winning the Champions League last season, but the Gunners defeated them during the group stages of the competition.
